Virtual office in Croatia for sole traders is a Zagreb business address to ask about for invoices and post, if your trade's rules allow it.

In Croatian a sole trader is an obrt. This page explains the word first, then the plan.

Obrt and paušalni obrt in English

Obrt is the Croatian word for a trade run by a trader, an obrtnik. A paušalni obrt is taxed under the flat-rate scheme (paušalno oporezivanje), described on START.

START states that the seat of an obrt is the place where the trade is carried out. If the trade needs no premises, the seat is where the trader lives (page read 15 Oct 2026, no date of change: START page). We do not claim that a trade can be registered at Gajeva 6. Settle that with an accountant first.

An address your clients can use

Picture a designer in Zagreb who invoices clients. The invoice needs a sender address, and a flat that doubles as an office is not what every client wants to read.

Gajeva 6, Zagreb is a business street address you can ask about for invoices. It also answers the client who asks where to send a formal letter.

The seat is part of the trade's firm name

START states that the firm of an obrt contains the name and label of the trade, the trader's name and the seat. If the seat is your home address, it is part of the firm. So we do not promise that your home address disappears from invoices.

Ask a Croatian accountant before you change your invoices.

Freelancers: one fixed place for letters

Platforms and clients ask for a postal address, and it should survive your next move. Letters keep one destination while your flat changes. Say in the enquiry which platforms you work with.

The smallest plan that fits

"Start" is EUR 45 + VAT a month, or EUR 299 + VAT for 12 months paid up front. A sole trader with little post needs only "Start". "Scan", at EUR 65 + VAT a month, is worth it if you want letters opened and scanned. See mail scanning.

Common questions

Is a freelancer the same as an obrt?

Freelancer describes the work. Obrt is a legal form. Which form you use is a question for an accountant.

Do I need a plan with scanning?

Only if you want to read letters on screen. "Start" emails you when a letter arrives. "Scan" also opens and scans it, up to 30 items a month. Add your expected volume to the enquiry.

Can my home address stay off my invoices?

Not necessarily. START says the firm of an obrt includes its seat, and the seat of a trade that needs no premises is the place of residence. Ask a Croatian accountant before you change the address on your invoices.
