Business address for Croatia company formation: what to settle first

Business address for Croatia company formation starts with one plain question: where will your new company's official address be?
A d.o.o. is the Croatian limited company. This page is for founders who are about to file one.
Why the address comes before the forms
The gov.hr portal on founding a d.o.o. says the founding act sets the company name, the company seat, the share capital and the founders' rights and duties. The page was read on 15 Oct 2026 and shows no date of change: gov.hr founding page. So settle the address before you fill in the first line.
Write down the company name you want, the company form and where the owners live.

d.o.o. in short
D.o.o. stands for društvo s ograničenom odgovornošću, a limited liability company. The simpler variant is the j.d.o.o. gov.hr gives a minimum share capital of 2,500.00 EUR for a d.o.o. and 1.00 EUR for a j.d.o.o. (gov.hr j.d.o.o. page and the d.o.o. page above, read 15 Oct 2026).
Pick the form with an accountant first. The address comes after.
What an address cannot do
An address does not found your company. It answers one line of the paperwork and receives the letters that follow. Drafting documents and deciding who may sign them sit with Croatian lawyers and accountants.
Companies already have their registered seat at Gajeva 6 in Zagreb. Tell us the planned company form and, before you pay, we confirm in writing what it means for you.
After registration: the first letters
Once the company exists, post addressed to it starts to arrive, in Croatian. Decide on day one who reads it. "Start" gives an email notice. "Scan" gives a scan of each item, up to 30 items a month. Read more about mail scanning.
Keep the address as long as the company lists it as its seat. Moving later is a procedure of its own, with its own page.

Common questions
Can I form a company without visiting Croatia?
gov.hr lists three routes: START for Croatian citizens with a residence in Croatia, e-Sudski registar for Croatian and EU/EEA citizens, and in-person steps for Croatian, EU/EEA and foreign citizens (read 15 Oct 2026). Which one applies depends on you, so ask a Croatian lawyer or accountant.
Which plan suits a company that does not exist yet?
Begin with the shorter list that covers the post you expect in the first months. "Start" is EUR 45 + VAT a month. A new company often gets little post at first.
How is this page different from the registered address page?
That page explains the term for owners of existing companies. This one follows a founder from the first question to the first letter.
